Welcome to the big 30!!!

Another year older and wiser…. perhaps strands of grey hair will start sprouting from now on…

Someone turned 30 on the 4th August 2009. Join the club darling…. We celebrated his birthday at Pasta Zenmai in MidValley with our parents (both sides). We indulged in the oh-so-yummy food that is absolutely tasty and special!

These were what we ordered….

 

An alcoholic drink that Cat ordered. The plum supposedly to be soak in alcohol (concentrated) that you are to eat it (well if you want to get high) last.

I forgot what it’s called. Some beef pasta which darling ordered. Ah-but-den??!!!

 

Can’t recall who ordered this but I think it’s mushroom pasta…

 

The garlic fried rice that my mum and my father in-law ordered. Which they could not finish – they ordered 2 bowls!

 

Oh this is the ultimate Japanese pizza ever…. With scallops and mushroom… the sauce is crazily yummy-licious!

 

My favourite pasta – Vongole in mushroom and chilli sauce. Slurppppppp…. The clams are very fresh! And juicy….

 

Another pizza – Seafood pizza i think. Apparently not as tasty as the scallop one. The right dish – i totally forgotten what it is… LOL

 

Unagi pasta…. Ordered by my father in-law.

 

My mum ordered this… She could not finish and started distributing her prawns to everyone!

Last month was a month filled with celebrations. From birthdays to full moon, Hari Raya to Deepavali and the recent Halloween celebration too! Ahhh not forgetting the event that I missed due to fever – Steve’s and Tracy’s wedding.

It’s been almost 3 weeks since we moved in to our new place. Still have lots to do and unpack. We are taking our own sweet time as we are insufficient of certain things…

We need more storage cabinets and drawers

Another countertop for my groceries (for chopping and cutting meat and vegetables) – Ed got Stanly to custom make one for us. Hopefully it’s not too pricey!

A microwave and a countertop

A bigger fridge

and a helping hand….A maid will be great!!! But too bad, this we cant’ afford yet…. At least she can clean my house everyday as it’s super dusty each time we open our windows! Now we keep it close most of the time.

Haven’t gotten a chance to take more pictures. Will do so in due time, soon!!!!

Till then, I guess i will be taking a break from blogging for a while till i settle down fully here. Stilll getting used to the routine of cleaning and unpacking everyday. It’s exhausting as I never stopped working even when I come home from work!

Been standing on my feet till it hurts now. Chiropractor said i overused my muscles…. Need the stabilizers… SIGH!

Finally our own place !!!

The plan was to stay with my in-laws till next year when the existing condo in Kuchai is vacant in September. Due to circumstances, we made the decision to move out while scouting for a good place to buy. We found this condo in Jalan Puchong (actually it is situated opposite the Old Klang Road police station onwards to Puchong – another route besides LDP).

The condo’s name is Sri Jati 2. Yes, it sounded quite low class like any flats out there but the place in fact is a pretty nice and comfortable place. The best we have seen as everything that comes with it are new. It is partially furnished – TV cabinet, wardrobe (which can only fit Ed’s clothes), sofa and Queen sized bed. Oh yes, curtains for the living hall and master bedroom included. That’s about it. The setback of the house is, no kitchen cabinet installed!!! That is the most important part and we are still trying to get the owner to fix one for us.

We spent a lot to get all the necessary items for the house…. and we are not done yet!!!! Sigh!!!!

We get to move our items in staggered load-ins starting from this Saturday. We will officially move in on the 1st October. Can’t wait!

Now we can start playing ‘house’ at last~~~ Hahhahaha and masak-masak! I’d better brush up my cooking skills… feed my hubbie fat-fat…

Tim Tam has gone full monty!!!! Shaved his fur off 2 weeks ago. He has scabs and so I took the decision to let him go full monty. Well, killed 2 birds with one stone! At least when his furs grow back, it will be shinier, curlier and thicker…

I bought him a t-shirt, twas a little big for his size even though it was ’s’ size. I could lift him up with it!!! LOL

He looked so puny and skinny without his furs… Can’t wait for his furs to grow. The vet said it will take aproximately 1 month to see a little fur. So am guessing it will take 6 months to have his furs grown completely… Well, at least for now, it’s easier for me to clean him!

Father’s Day was on the 21st June this year. Got my dad and dad in-law to the revolving restaurant at Federal Hotel. It was a a high tea buffet.

The buffet spread has gone good to bad this time, quality of food was bad and the variety has shrunk. However, according to my father in-law; the price remained the same!

Fathers of the Year….

Fathers are wonderful people,

Today marks the date that the whole world will always remember… The death of a legend.The sudden death of Michael Jackson.

MJ’s death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was dubbed the King of Pop. MJ had been rehearsing for what was to be his greatest comeback: 50 shows in London with the first set for July 13. But it was not meant to be…. Perhaps his intense 7 hours a day rehearsal plus his many doses of medication played the role of his death.

I was in a disbelief state this morning when Ed told me casually that the King of Pop is dead. My reaction was “Ya right!” but it was true. The feeling i had was the same when Princess D died. Shocked, mix emotions and yet relief. Why relief? His sufferings are at last ended. I kinda sympathize him… i don’t understand why he ever wanted to change the way he looked. He was a handsome man who is so pleasant to eyes but not when his face started to make its transformation.  He looked like he is trying damn hard to prevent his face from falling apart… what a waste.

Well, i guess he didn’t find peace and satisfaction with himself. I guess he was trying to be perfect in every way. Only he knows and GOD knows at the end. Anyhow, what’s done is done, what’s happened has… May he rest in peace now.

Here’s a lil tribute to the first Charlie Angels - Farah Fawcett too… Such a sad case, over-shadowed by the King. It’s like her death is unimportant to the entertainment industry. Hardly any news on her or any tribute to her. So I will give her my tribute…

The world has lost a great talent and a great mane!!!

I bet everyone of us have encountered with either constipation or diarrhea in our lives. But how many experienced both at the same time? I did and it’s not once but many  times. The difference with other people is, mine happens with the mind and mouth - the M&Ms.

How? Exactly how it is - literally! It’s either with constipation of the mind and diarrhea of the mouth or vice versa! Times when you have so many things you want to say but your mind seems to work slower, hence you get jibberish! Times when you think to fast and you need to get the thoughts out as fast, you get a broken record sound alike. You can’t pronounce properly and you try and try to get it right - that’s when you sound like a broken record….

I had that phase for about a week or so at one point. I thought i was loosing it altogether. Could it be the influence of my funny dear friend whose name i shall not mention… or could it be that i seriously have a problem?Here are some examples of what some of us may have experienced.

“My talking is bumpy.”

“The words get stuck.”

“My tongue stumbles.”

“My brain goes faster than my mouth.”

What Are Stuttering and Speech Problems?

As human beings, we have the special ability to share our thoughts by talking. We start by forming a thought in our brains. In the brain, this thought is changed into a code we’ve learned called language. Once the thought is coded into language, the brain sends a message to the muscles that control speech, telling them to move and make the right sounds come out. Then the mouth, face, neck, tongue, and throat muscles move to form words.

Sometimes this process doesn’t work perfectly, though. There might be an interruption or break in the flow of speech. This interruption is called a dysfluency (say: dis-floo-en-see). Now and then, everyone has trouble getting words out. It’s normal to stumble over a word or two every once in a while. Dysfluency becomes a speech problem, though, when it gets in the way of everyday talking and is noticeable to other people. A person may have a tough time getting thoughts out.

To all of us who experience this ‘interruption’, don’t be shy or embarrassed. We are not alone as there are at least 3 million people in the USA itself stutters. They are just as intelligent as the non-stutterers! Thomas Jefferson (3rd USA president), James Earl Jones (actor who played Darth Vader in Star Wars) and also King Mufasa in the Lion King stutters…

Then again, i am not a full time stutterer - only when i am overly excited! Heheh…

A 3 years thought has been put to action at looooooooong last! Yup!

To blog… I have kept diaries when i was 12 - 17 years old and never got to writing it once i started college.
Now entering into my ‘oh so old for this and that’ period of my life, i decided to give it a shot with my hubby’s support and encouragement. Ooooooooo it’s happening too fast! I don’t know what to write, how to write - here’s how it all started :

Last night at the ‘makan place’ in Sunway Mentari with my close buddy, Galvin and my hubby - Galvin was ranting on his new found interest in internet marketing. Me playing with ‘Tower Bloxx 3D’ on Ed’s iPhone while Ed was listening to the oh so familiar topic patiently. Galvin shared with us that he has been blogging and making some money out of it and that made him interested to look into more options on how he can optimize his blog business. ( i was cursing at my disfunctional fingers / eyes coordination as the tower bloxx kept on missing it’s targetted points - I am supposed to build towers as high as possible to earn a well populate city. For further info on the addictive game, google Tower Bloxx 3D ).

“Surprisingly, Wendy, i always thought you would have gone into blogging but you never did and i wonder why. That’s the last thing i saw myself doing but hey i am a blogger now and i am enjoying every bit of it. It has improved on my grammar and style of writing and what’s more! I AM MAKING SOME DARN US Dollars!” “So why in the world aren’t you a blogger already?”

I stopped my game play and looked at him with the ‘you must be kidding dude. Me???!!! Blog??!! I can’t write for nuts and i don’t have the flare for it and for whatever i am going to blog on, no one would have finished reading my thoughts and rants for goodness sake! I will bore everyone to death!’ (Well, after the ‘look’ i gave, i translated the ’stare message’ into words to him.)

“Aiyo Wendy, it does not matter. You write it your own style, your own way. No right or wrong to it. IT’s YOU. Don’t have to talk about flares and such. Let me ask you, do you like to b&*$@ about things?”

“YES!” (me with the guilty face)…

“So?! Just b&*$@ about things and there you have a blog! Easy…”

“Yeah easy!” My hubby seconded and echoed the affirmation. And it went on and on with all the goodness of blogging for about 20mins. Finally i said “Will see about it. But i still can’t write for NUTS. Readers gonna be bored to death!!!!!”

AND IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN with the 2 devils trying to con me into blogging. but guess what? THEY WON!!! ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH So here I am, blogging about how this first blog of mine came to place and yadayada… I am soooooooooooo boring!!!! But the heck with it; ITS MY BLOG AND I AM ALLOWED TO JUST SAY ANYTHING I WANT!!!
