I was once young…. Ahhh 21 years old, how sweet it sounds
by Wendy on Jun.25, 2009, under Celebration, Family, Life

21st Birthday…
21 candles finally are here,
I must admit, I waited all year.
So many obstacles, around tried to steer,
Passion for greatness; truly sincere!
A bit more mature, mind fairly clear,
Path in the making; future career.
Wisdom chooses an open ear,
Your charming smile, people adhere.
Youthfully bold, conquer your fear,
Never hesitate to shed a new tear.
Your beautiful actions, many revere,
A trusting shoulder, always hold near.
This is the age where the person who turns 21 gets a key pendant to represent ones freedom…. from their parents - well, at least they thought!
I was once that age, full of enthusiasm, excitement, horns growing to it’s fullest - Ahhh! Freedom, ahhhh adulthood! Sweetness… but little did I know, the road is long and windy. It was a great and fulfilling year for me then… full of hope, dreams and vision. I was flying around the world as a cabin crew and definitely taking on the world. With no mum nagging at me, buying anything I like without having mum’s consent, going anywhere without curfews (well, it still applied at home though but once at other countries, i spread my wings and flew high!). Trying out all sorts of ‘nonsense’ telling the world that i am an adult and i know what i am doing, so butt out of my face…. Scoot!!!
Once turning 22nd years, reality starts setting in…. The responsibilities, the hardship of over spending and having to repay all my credit card loans - spent more than i earn was the worst i could have done. But what could I do then? I was young, getting all the privileges from buying the latest fashion and accessories from around the world where none of your friends could get it back home - that’s life, that’s ELITE!!!! Getting all the envious stare and comments from your peers, it’s just Oh-so-good-a-feeling… This lasted till i was in my late 20s….
Now looking back, i did not have any regrets during my 21 years old days. Those were the days and moments that got me to where i am today, moulding and leading me to the path i am to take today. having experienced everything so that i will look back from 30 years down the road that i have lived life the way i am supposed to and not a single regret on it… I can tell my grandchildren that my life have been a rich and vibrant one, topped with lessons that made me a better person.
Serah, my God-niece, who celebrated her 21st birthday recently made me think back when i was ‘once’…. May Serah be blessed with lots of experiences that will bring her a meaningful life. Anyhow, whatever we thought we had planned or want to plan, is in fact according to GOD’s Will for us. Our path has been shaped - it’s how we follow it.

Liars need to have good memories

Do men always lie for a reason or are they just good at lying? Why do men lie to their women and deny the truth even when you try to make him confess? Whether it is a man or a woman, I think most of us had at least lied once in our life. Well, I do agreed that sometimes a white lie can save a quarrel. However, that does not mean we have to lie all the time in a relationship. A long lasting relationship still require your honesty. Perhaps the answers below could actually help to clarify your doubts on why do men lie to their women.
- Stop the woman from nagging
What are the things that guys are most afraid in women? That is nagging. Sometimes men do lie to their women because they knew that their woman will start nagging if they know the truth. So guys do actually used this method to save their ears from suffering.
- Lying is their habit
Perhaps your man has been lying to you all the time but you did not realize it. Lying has become a habit and they may think it is not a big problem.
- Lying about their capabilities
They have an egoistic character and was cautious about you despising him. He will try to show you how knowledgeable or capable he is in everything but in fact he may not know any ideas to certain things.
- Do not want you to be angry
Do you get angry easily if he is going to say another woman pretty or you look fat in that dressing? Sometimes, men just lied to please the women.
- Lying about his affair
Did your man start to give lame excuses to come home late or go out with friends more frequently? Has he been acting very mysterious on secret calls or chatting late at night? It could be they are cheating on you but was so afraid that you find out his affair. They will try to deny the truth till the end unless you have proven evidence. This is definitely the worst lie that it is going to be.
Lying is definitely no good in a relationship. A long lasting relationship need to be honest.
A successful relationship is not built overnight. It requires strong honesty, trust, communication, care, love and concern. The truth is always the best no matter what situation you are in. Even if it hurts, sooner or later, the truth will somehow reveal itself. So why even bother lying?

Constipation and Diarrhea, at the same time….
by Wendy on Jun.11, 2009, under Blogging, Life
I bet everyone of us have encountered with either constipation or diarrhea in our lives. But how many experienced both at the same time? I did and it’s not once but many times. The difference with other people is, mine happens with the mind and mouth - the M&Ms.
How? Exactly how it is - literally! It’s either with constipation of the mind and diarrhea of the mouth or vice versa! Times when you have so many things you want to say but your mind seems to work slower, hence you get jibberish! Times when you think to fast and you need to get the thoughts out as fast, you get a broken record sound alike. You can’t pronounce properly and you try and try to get it right - that’s when you sound like a broken record….
I had that phase for about a week or so at one point. I thought i was loosing it altogether. Could it be the influence of my funny dear friend whose name i shall not mention…
or could it be that i seriously have a problem? Here are some examples of what some of us may have experienced.
“My talking is bumpy.”
“The words get stuck.”
“My tongue stumbles.”
“My brain goes faster than my mouth.”
Checking out on Google…these are what we call Stuttering…

What Are Stuttering and Speech Problems?
As human beings, we have the special ability to share our thoughts by talking. We start by forming a thought in our brains. In the brain, this thought is changed into a code we’ve learned called language. Once the thought is coded into language, the brain sends a message to the muscles that control speech, telling them to move and make the right sounds come out. Then the mouth, face, neck, tongue, and throat muscles move to form words.
Sometimes this process doesn’t work perfectly, though. There might be an interruption or break in the flow of speech. This interruption is called a dysfluency (say: dis-floo-en-see). Now and then, everyone has trouble getting words out. It’s normal to stumble over a word or two every once in a while. Dysfluency becomes a speech problem, though, when it gets in the way of everyday talking and is noticeable to other people. A person may have a tough time getting thoughts out.
To all of us who experience this ‘interruption’, don’t be shy or embarrassed. We are not alone as there are at least 3 million people in the USA itself stutters. They are just as intelligent as the non-stutterers! Thomas Jefferson (3rd USA president), James Earl Jones (actor who played Darth Vader in Star Wars) and also King Mufasa in the Lion King stutters…
Then again, i am not a full time stutterer - only when i am overly excited! Heheh…
